AIR PRESSURE:

The recommended operating pressure of the edger is 80 psi. This should be adjusted
by the regulator located on top of the air filter on the right side of the unit. Should it be
allowed to drop too low, lens slippage could occur. Excessive pressure, on the other hand,
could result in premature clamp wear or lens damage. In some lenses involving fragile A/R
coatings, this pressure msg. need to be reduced to 60 psi.
The tracking pressure is set at the factory at 35 psi. If flexing of thin patterns or
lenses occurs, or when making a pattern from a lens, you may reduce the pressure. If is
reduced below 25 psi, however, poor tracking may result. This will be indicated by misshape
due to the pattern not tracking the pattern, or erratic bevel due to the bevel guide wheel not
tracking the front of the lens.

LENS SPINDLE SPEED:

The lens drive motor is an induction type, and its speed will not deviate. For
reference purposes, the spindle shaft should make 1 revolution in approximately 9.4 seconds.

CARRIAGE FLOW RATES:

The carriage flow rates are set by the use of Flow Restrictors and are not adjustable.
However, the flow rates should be verified occasionally.

LENS DRIVE CARRIAGE FLOW RATE:

The lens drive carriage flow cylinder shaft should take 26 to 29 seconds to fully
retract into its cylinder from the time the Start switch is depressed, or its control solenoid is
activated manually. If the flow rate is found to be out of tolerance, refer to the
Troubleshooting Guide for further diagnostics.

CUTTER MOTOR CARRIAGE FLOW RATE:

The cutter motor carriage flow cylinder shaft should take approximately 1 second to
move to the left when its control solenoid is activated manually. When the control solenoid
is released, the cutter motor carriage should take approximately 2.5 seconds to move to the
right. If the flow rate is found to be out of tolerance, refer to the Troubleshooting Guide for
further diagnostics.

DIFFERENTIAL FLOW RATE:

The differential should take 1.5 to 2 seconds to close. To verify, pull the pattern
roller lightly towards the front of the edger with the left hand and hold it there, then switch
the power on and off with the right hand, pausing 5 seconds between positions. When
