CUTTERS:

The disposable insert type of cutter used on the Horizon II is manufactured by
National Optronics, Inc. There are five standard style cutters. They are:
BEVELING
MODIFIED 5
GROOVING
FACETING
SHELVING
All of the cutters mentioned above have an outside diameter of 0.750" O.D. at their
tips, with the exception of the Faceting cutter, which ramps from the 0.750" O.D. to a 1.165"
O.D. at the tip.
In addition to the cutters listed here, there are several specialty cutters that are also
available. There is a page towards the back of this manual that shows a complete listing of
cutters for the Horizon II.

Removing/Installing the Cutter Body:

To remove the cutter body from the motor:
1. Turn the control panel power switch OFF. Release the clasps on the side of the edger,
and raise the top case.
2. The motor controller is located on the right side of edger. Turn the toggle switch on the
motor controller to the OFF position.
3. Remove or swing the bevel guide wheel assembly 90
4. Raise the flip-up cutter shield over the cutter body to allow access to the cutter body set
screws.
5. With the hex wrenches provided, loosen the set screws holding the cutter body to the
motor shaft.
6. Carefully slip the cutter body from the motor shaft. The blades are sharp!
To reinstall the cutter body on the motor:
1. Clean the motor shaft with a solvent (acetone or alcohol) if any debris has collected on it.
