Toner/Drum Replacement
WARNING: Use caution when removing the drum. It is delicate and light sensitive and can be
scratched. Do not touch the green drum surface. Do not leave the drum surface exposed to
light for more than 5 minutes. If available, place the drum in the black plastic bag that ships
with new consumables. If the drum becomes damaged, print defects will occur.

Procedure for Removing the Toner from the Drum

First remove the toner/drum set from the printer. There is a release lever that removes the
toner from the drum. You will see toner piled inside the drum. This is normal; however, you
should be careful not to spill this toner.
Refer to the illustration below in completing the following steps:
• Unlock the blue release lever by moving it towards you. (1)
• Pull the toner away from the drum. (2)
• Replace the toner using the reverse steps. (2, then 1)
• Note that the toner may be messy, so use caution so that it does not spill.
