5 Function

5.1 Operating principle
The ID tags are operated passively, i�e� without battery� The energy required for
operation is supplied by the RFID compact unit�
The energy is transferred via an electromagnetic wave� The receiving antenna
takes up the wave and transforms it into voltage which supplies the data carrier
with energy�
