23 Checkout procedure log

This log should be carried out at installation by qualified personnel and is recommended to use regularly
according to company guidelines.
Check point
Verify that the guarded machine is
compatible with the type of machine
which may be used with the Focus II
system.
Verify that the mounting distance of
the Focus II system is equal to or
greater than the minimum distance.
See 3.3 or 3.4
Make sure that the operator is not
able to stand between the Focus II
system detection zone and the
hazardous area.
Verify that the reset button is only
reachable from the safe area
and that there is full view of the
hazardous area.
Determine that all access to the
hazardous area not protected by the
Focus II system is guarded by fence
or other fixed guard.
Inspect the electrical installation
between the machine control system
and the Focus II system. Verify that
they are connected correct and
that the machine stops when the
detection zone is interrupted.
If EDM is used check that the wiring
are correct and fully functional.
Record the test result in the
machine log, then perform the test
procedure.
