This is device firmware file (.elf file) which run on the CPU. When connected to Macurco NPU (Network Parameter
Utility) software, the software will compare the ELF file version with the version loaded on the panel and prompt for
an update if a newer version exists. The. elf file is downloaded with the NPU software from
http://www.macurco.com/downloads.html

5.3 BACnet Connection

The Macurco DVP-120B BACnet output uses a 4 wire RS-485 connection, Data-A, Data-B, Common, and Shield (optional). RS-485
connection for BACnet output is labeled 'TB2'. This can be converted to USB, Ethernet and Serial connections with the use of
corresponding conversion equipment. For this example, we will use a USB to RS-485 Serial Converter Cable.
5.3.1

Serial RS-485 to USB Wiring

Most converter cables are going to come with more wires than what is needed by the Macurco DVP-120B BACnet output. The extra
wires do not have a termination point and should be secured and protected from shorting using tape or heat shrink.
• Connect the required Data A, Data B and Common (Ground), and shield (if available) to the 4 pin BACnet
connector.
NOTE: The color code for your cable may be different than the one shown here, reference the user manual for your
specific cable for accurate wiring information.
• Plug the USB connection into the USB port of your computer, install any necessary drivers for the USB to
RS-485 Serial Converter cable.
• Open your BACnet Software Solution and verify the Macurco DVP-120B BACnet Panel is communicating
with the software.
