6-11. Replacing gauge parts

<Removing the gauge parts>
1. Loosen the screw (1), and remove the needle (2).
2. Remove the screw (3), and remove the presser foot (4).
3. Loosen the two screws (5), and slide the upper knife (6)
down and off.
4. Remove the two screws (7), and remove the needle plate
(8).
5. Remove the two screws (9), and remove the auxiliary
needle plate (10).
6. Remove the two screws (11), and remove the sewing
scraps guide (12) from the auxiliary needle plate (10).
7. Remove the two screws (13), and remove the feed dog
(14).
<Installing the gauge parts>
1. Provisionally secure the sewing scraps guide (12) on the
back of the auxiliary needle plate (10) with the two screws
(11).
2. Provisionally secure the feed dog (14) with the two screws
(13).
3. Install the auxiliary needle plate (10) with the two screws
(9).
4. Install the needle plate (8) with the two screws (7).
* Turn the machine pulley and adjust the feed dog (14) so
that it is centered right-left and front-back over the groove
in the needle plate (8), and then tighten the screws (13).
5. Tilt the machine back, shift the sewing scraps guide (12)
right or left from the underside so that the guide is 0 - 0.5
mm over the needle plate (8), and then firmly tighten the
two screws (11).
6. Install the upper knife (6) with the two screws (5).
* Loosen the screw (15), move the knife holder (16) so that
the side of the upper knife (6) is gently touching the right
side of the needle plate (8), and then re-tighten the screw
(15).
7. Install the presser foot (4) with the screw (3).
8. Install the needle (2) with the screw (1).
9. Firmly tighten the feed dog screws (13).
* After installing all parts, adjust the upper knife.
