Bump Test

1. Connect VESDA Sensepoint XCL detector to the Sensepoint App.
2. Power OFF the smoke detector or switch to standby mode.
3. Remove the (red) Calibration Port plug and connect to bump test gas cylinder having a fixed flow
regulator (FFR) rated at 0.5 L/min
to the regulator manufacturer for instructions on how to start and stop the gas flow from the cylinder.
4. Apply bump test gas and check gas reading and transmission signals. Gas readings must be within the
accuracy of the listed gas sensor (see "A.1 Detector Parameters").
5. Following bump test replace the (red) Calibration Port plug.
6. Power ON smoke detector or switch to normal mode.
CAUTION:
For CO versions operating in UL 2075 alarm mode, apply 100 ppm of carbon monoxide for 3
minutes.
Note:
Perform a bump test in between calibration intervals.
If detector fails the bump test check and if necessary, calibrate the detector. Follow steps outlined
in section "4.8 Troubleshooting".
