Symptom
Gray characters are
printed.
When sending
large print jobs,
a message "This
document failed to
print." sometimes
appears.
The printing option
does not effect for
the printouts.
What to confirm
Has the color been set
for characters on appli-
cation software?
Has "Toner Saving"
been set on printer
driver?
Standard TCP/IP Port
protocol has been set
for "Raw".
Some software applications will overwrite the option set on
the printer property page. Choose your printing options from
the application.
Suggested solutions
Select black for characters on appli-
cation software.
Check the setting in the "Quality"
tab of printer driver.
Take the following steps to fix it.
1. Open the properties window for
Océ fx2081 PCL printer driver.
2. Click the "Ports" tab.
3. Click [Configure Port...] to show
the "Configure Standard TCP/IP
Port Monitor" window.
4. Select "LPR" in "Protocol".
5. Check the box for "LPR Byte
Counting Enabled" in "LPR Set-
tings".
