► Use the tunnel-shaped STIHL Corridor Pattern (C) to
install the gate at each end of the corridor.
► When using the "Passage" feature ("Offset Drive Home"),
search loops must be installed in the linked area in order
for the iMow to be able to locate the gate and return to the
docking station, @ 11.9.
► Define at least 1 starting point in the linked area, @ 15.6.
► If necessary, activate automatic edge mowing or mow the
corridor area manually on a regular basis, @ 14.3 and
@ 15.3.

The docking station (1) is installed in the primary mowing
area (A). A linked mowing area (B) is linked to the primary
mowing area with a corridor (2). The perimeter wire (3) can
be followed by the robotic mower. To ensure mowing of the
linked mowing area, two starting points (4) were defined.

11.9 Installing Search Loops

If the "Passage" function ("Offset Drive Home") is activated,
search loops must be installed to help the robotic mower
recognize the location of an external docking station, a
corridor or a confined area. If the robotic mower crosses a
search loop during its drive home, the robotic mower will
then directly travel to the perimeter wire and to the docking
station or through the corridor or confined area.

a
► Keep a minimum clearance of a = 6.6 ft. (2 m) from the
corners of the mowing area.
► Install the perimeter wire (1) with a minimum length of
b = 3.3 ft. (1 m) and with a distance of d = 0.4 in. (1 cm) in
between.
► Fasten the perimeter wire to the ground with two wire
stakes at the edge (A). Do not cross the perimeter wires.
Keep them parallel.
► Attach the search loop to the ground with a sufficient
number of wire stakes.
To install a search loop in combination with an external
docking station:
1
a
► Install two search loops (1), each at a 90° angle on the left
and right side of the docking station.
► Keep a minimum clearance of a = 6.6 ft. (2 m) from the
