Appendix B: LS-AFM Files
The LS-AFM software has three separate files that it uses. The first is a parameter file which
stores all of the parameters used for operating the microscope. The second is a scanner file,
which is unique for each scanner and has range and calibration information. Finally, data
files contain images measured by the microscope.
B.1 Parameter Files
When the AFM-View software is launched, the default parameter file is used to set all of
the parameters that are displayed on the screen. A new parameter file may be created from
the default parameter file and stored with a different name. The new parameter file can be
loaded in the Pre-Scan window. Below is a list of all of the functions in the parameter file.
