Configuration
You use configuration commands to configure the parameters of the DALI devices. These
commands allow you to store configuration data in the CM 1xDALI module.
You can build up the configuration in the modules database by uploading the physical
devices or by configuring the devices from the CPU. You can use these commands to query,
modify and deploy a stored configuration.
3.4.1

Add control gear

Description
Command ID 21
Input Param-
eters
Response
Parameters
32
Use this CM command to query the Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) of a DALI
device.
Byte 0
Specifies the device type:
1: control gears
2: input devices
Byte 1
Short address of the device
Byte 0
Return code (Page 51)
Byte 1 to 6
GTIN of the device.
Some DALI devices do not support querying their GTIN. In this case, all the bytes of
GTIN are set to 0.
Use this CM command to add or modify a control gear in the module data base.
To add one configured control gear, you must set the device type of the control
gear.
Adding a control gear does not send any DALI command to the device on the bus,
but the configured flag of the device will be set.
After adding the device by this command, the parameters you set by command
24, 26, 28, and 29 are saved in the CM 1xDALI.
The device is marked as configured after the device type is set.
All of the setting parameters are saved in the CM 1xDALI until the device is delet-
ed by the "Remove control gear (Page 33)" instruction or reset by the "Reset De-
vice (Page 46)" instruction.
After the configure, parameters setting to this short address is allowed.
If the short address is added, the re-adding modifies the configured type.
If the short address already exists, the "Add control gear" instruction modifies the
configuration type.
Byte 0
Short address of the control gear
Byte 1
Configured control gear type
Byte 0
Return code (Page 51)
Byte 1
Address status (Page 52)after the configuration
