DEFINITY ECS Configuration

Termination of the EXTender 1000 and 3000

In order to use the EXTender 1000 or the EXTender 3000 with the PBXgateway, you first need to
configure the second I channel (CH2) of each DEFINITY port assigned to a remote user. After the
DEFINITY is configured, you can then configure the PBXgateway for termination of the EXTender 1000 or
3000 units.

Prerequisites for Configuration

The DEFINITY should be powered ON and operational.
Make sure a basic configuration terminal consisting of a monitor and keyboard is connected to the
DEFINITY via an RS-232 cable.
The DEFINITY should have DCP ports assigned to the Gateway.
Note: Only ports that support either an "Analog" or Data" adjunct can be used.

Procedure

1. Locate the terminal and turn it on.
2. At the "Login" prompt, enter the correct login and password. Press "Enter".
3. At the "Command:" prompt type: Cha Sta XXXX (XXXX represents the DCP port that you want to
connect to either the EXTender 1000 (Analog) or the EXTender 3000 (ISDN) Remote unit.
The following screen appears:
Note: This screen is specific for the Avaya, Inc. 8410D telephone. Depending on the model of digital
telephone used, the screen may be slightly different.
4. Under Extension, use the ↓ key to access the "Type" (phone) parameter. Use the following chart to
determine the setting for the specific phone being used at the remote.
