5. In the AutoChem software, right-click on the furnace icon, then select Set Temperature.
Perform the following steps:
a. Enter 450 in the Set point field.
b. Enter 50 in the Ramp Rate field.
c. Click OK.
6. When the sample temperature reaches approximately 450 °C and stabilizes:
a. Record the Sample Temperature from the AutoChem in Table l as Reading 2.
b. Record the Temperature displayed in the in (mV) column from the IO 220 screen as
Reading 2.
7. In the AutoChem software, right-click on the furnace icon, then select Set Temperature.
Perform the following steps:
a. Enter 900 in the Set point field.
b. Enter 50 in the Ramp Rate field.
c. Click OK.
8. When the sample temperature reaches approximately 900 °C and stabilizes:
a. Record the Sample Temperature from the AutoChem in Table l as Reading 3.
b. Record the Temperature displayed in the in (mV) column on the IO 220 screen as
Reading 3.
