Section 4 - Troubleshooting Guide
Symptom
Press does not operate.
Press will not reach programmed
load.
Displayed load values are
incorrect or display's different
values.
Reason
Load frame door is open.
Over-temperature circuit has
disabled the system.
Controller is not programmed
correctly.
Controller is not running.
Cable to the press is
disconnected.
Cylinder control switch is in off
position.
Door or top platen limit switch
is defective or requires
adjustment.
Time delay relay is defective or
not configured correctly.
Servo valve and/or related
electronics are defective.
Incorrect controller program.
Oil temperature is too hot.
System pressure is set too low.
Over-temperature circuit is
improperly adjusted.
Controller or display calibration
is incorrect.
SECTION 4 - TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Close the load frame door.
Reset the over-temperature
circuit by pressing the red
button on the side panel.
Verify the program in the
controller.
Press the RUN button to start
the program.
Connect the cable.
Set the cylinder control switch
to the UP position.
Adjust door limit switch to close
when the door is closed. Adjust
the top platen control switch to
close before brass platen
touches the steel platen.
Verify the time delay relay is set
to operate with approx. 20 sec
delay.
Contact Chandler Engineering
service department.
Verify the program in the
controller.
Allow the oil to cool and repeat
the test.
Allow the oil to cool and verify
that the system pressure is set at
2,600 psig.
Set the over-temperature circuit
to operate at 70°C.
Reconfigure the display or
controller with the system
calibration factors.
Recalibrate the display and
controller.
Press the Tare button on the
display.
