A yellow blinking light on the Simer A5500 charger indicates that the prequalification test stage is in progress. This stage lasts 20 seconds to 3 minutes, but can take up to 2 hours if the battery has been deeply discharged. It does not specifically indicate that a new battery is needed, but may suggest the battery is heavily discharged.

A red A.C. Power indicator shows that the charger is receiving power. A slow blinking yellow charger mode LED means the charger is in the prequalification test stage. This stage typically lasts 20 seconds to 3 minutes, but if the battery is deeply discharged, it may take up to 2 hours to determine if it can accept a charge.
To reset the charger, unplug it from the 120V outlet for 10 seconds and then plug it back in.
