6 Preparing the door & mortice
6.1
Cut out template. Mark centreline of door
and frame. At required height mark
horizontal line on door and frame.
6.4
Chisel out remaining timber between drill
holes. Remove debris. Insert latch into
mortice. Ensure latch is orientated so snib
is below the latch.
7 Fitting the latch
7.1
Insert latch into mortice and place faceplate
over the top. Mark holes for fixings &
pilot drill.

Using the centreline guide and fitting height
datum, tape template to the external face
where the push button key pad is being
fitted. Mark the centres of all holes with a
bradawl and remove template. RETAIN FOR
DRILL INSTRUCTION.
6.5
Draw around faceplate. Remove latch and
chisel out marked area to a depth of 4.5mm.
7.2
Secure faceplate with fixings supplied.

Using 25mm dia spade drill to 100mm
deep in 2 places as per the mortice lock
template.
6.6
Tape drill guide to side face of door using
fitting height datum for position. Drill through
holes on side of door as per marked locations.
Ensure drill is kept at right angle to door face
at all times during drilling.
