installation

c observe the safety rules indicated at the
beginning of this document;
c for a vertical Pulsar installation, swivel
upwards the small part fitted with 2 pins and
insert the other end in the slots provided.
Then embed the base behind the device to
stabilise it.

preliminary checks

c check that button 3 "
" on the front is
not pushed in;
c check that rating shown on identification
plate 10 corresponds to the input voltage
specification and power requirement of the
load.

c power links

v use the computer cord to supply input
power to Pulsar as shown.
Connect the computer cord 5 between the
UPS utility power input receptacle
a nearby utility power outlet.

v use included EEC cords 8 to connect
the computer equipments to output
receptacles 7 .

c serial link:

If you wish to use the functions of the
CD-ROM included with your Pulsar, connect
the lead 15 to the communication port 9 .
Connect the other end to a serial port of a
computer system.

c data link:

If you wish to use the fax/modem line
protection functions (for your Internet
applications for example), acquire a
telephone cable (RJ12 type):
v connect the cable of your modem or fax to
the connection marked "OUT" behind the
Pulsar support base (fig. 1).
v connect another cable between the
connection marked "IN" and a wall
telephone connection, then connect the
earth connection 13a on Pulsar (fig. 2).
