Adjusting the feed dog angle

• Standard angle of the feed dog (1) when it is raised
as far as possible above the surface of the needle
plate
- Top of needle plate and top of feed dog are parallel
(Z-8550B)
- Front end of feed dog is raised slightly above top
of needle plate (Z-8560B)
The ○ mark on the feed bracket shaft (2) is aligned with
the mark on the feed rocker bracket arm (3).

Turn the machine pulley to move the feed dog (1)
to its highest position above the needle plate.

Tilt back the machine head.

Loosen the set screw (4).

Turn the feed base shaft (2) in the direction of the
arrow within a range of 90º with respect to the standard position.
• In order to prevent puckering, lower the front of the feed dog (1). (Fig. A)
• In order to prevent the material from slipping, raise the front of the feed dog (1). (Fig. B)

Securely tighten the set screw (4).
When the angle of the feed dog (1) is adjusted, the height and forward/back position of the feed dog (1) will
also change and will need to be readjusted.
