13.2 Preventative Maintenance Testing

NOTE: The gi4000 ESU should undergo preventive maintenance testing annually.
NOTE: When performing electrical testing which requires the use of test leads, test
leads should be fully stretched out and not touching each other or any conductive
surfaces, including the floor.
A thorough preventative maintenance program is essential to safe and proper equipment
operation. Comprehensive instructions for annual preventative maintenance can be found in
this section of the manual. STERIS Endoscopy recommends this preventative maintenance
test be performed on an annual basis.
Each unit is supplied with a serialized Product Test Data Sheet, which tabulates the results of
the factory tests that were performed on the unit. This data may be used as a reference for
subsequent tests and should be made available to the biomedical technician conducting the
preventative maintenance testing.
