Charging the battery

The battery level bar is divided into 5 blocks and is visible when the battery is fully charged. When
the battery level bar shows less than 20% remaining charge, the battery pack must be recharged.
In this condition, the battery still has enough charge to carry out several measurements before the
display switches off and no additional measurements are possible.
Procedure:
1. Remove the protective cover from the charging/communication connector (pos. 09).
Make sure the handle is open.
2. Insert the plug of the charger into the connection on the rear of the DGM.
3. Connect the power supply to a mains connection.
While charging, the battery level bar moves to show that the battery is being
charged.
4. Disconnect the DGM from the charger after approximately 6 hours.
5. Re-install the protective cover on the rear of the DGM.
If the battery is completely discharged, it takes approximately 6 - 8 hours to recharge the battery
pack using the charger. The DGM has an internal regulator to control the charging process and
protect the battery pack against overcharging. The battery is also protected against overheating, so
the DGM can continue to be connected to the charger indefinitely. Limiting the charging time to 24
hours or less is good for the battery lifespan.
Warning
Attention!

During charging the handle must always be in open position.
The charging connector at the rear of the DGM must never be
open when the DGM is not connected to the charger. Always
place the protective cover on the connector when the
charging cable is disconnected.
The battery pack has a limited lifespan (see section 9.2).
