Overvoltage levels:
Overvoltage I: Devices connected to the circuit which can limit instantaneous overvoltage to a
relatively low level.
Overvoltage II: Energy-consuming devices powered by fixed power distribution equipment,
including appliances, portable tools, and other household and similar equipment. Overvoltage III
is also applicable if there are special requirements for the reliability and applicability of the
equipment.
Overvoltage III: Devices apply to fixed distribution equipment, including switches in the fixed
power distribution equipment and industrial equipment permanently connected to fixed power
distribution equipment. The reliability and applicability of the equipment have to meet special
requirements.
Overvoltage IV: Devices apply to the power distribution equipment, such as measuring instru-
ments and prepositioned overcurrent protection devices, etc.

pollution caused by condensation;
Pollution level 3: Conductive pollution or non-conductive pollution turns to conductive pollution
due to condensation;
Pollution level 4: Persistent conductive pollution, such as pollution caused by conductive dust or
rain and snow.
