12.1
General information for
actuator replacement
The following tools are required
for replacing the actuator:
Allen key

Position of the ball:
Check the position of the ball indicated
G
by the groove SZ in the shaft top and
compare with position indicator, rotate
ball valve to correct position if necessary.
Groove rotated 90° to the pipe direction:
®
Ball valve closed.
Groove in pipe direction: Ball valve open.
®
For flanged bodies the actuator is
assembled offset by 90°.

Replacing the actuator

Depressurize control medium.

Remove the control medium line(s) from
G
the actuator.

12.2.1 Disassembling the actuator

Remove the caps 30.
G
Remove the hexagonal screws 32.
G
Do not lose the washers 31.
G
The actuator A can now be removed
G
from the ball valve body.

12.2.2 Assembling the actuator

Place the new actuator A on the ball
G
valve body.
Turn the actuator until the hexagonal
G
screws 32 can be inserted.
Hand-tighten the hexagonal screws 32
G
with their washers 31.
Diagonally hand-tighten the hexagonal
G
screws 32 evenly.
Put on the caps 30 again.

Replacing the seals

Only use genuine GEMÜ spare
G
parts!
When ordering spare parts,
G
specify the complete order
number of the ball valve.
Disassemble the actuator (see chapter
G
12.2.1 "Disassembling the actuator").
Bend downwards lug 12 of the screw
G
locking device.
