CONNECTING THE BURNER TO THE GAS
MAINS
LOW PRESSURE GAS SUPPLY SYSTEM (MAX 400 MM W.C.)
If the gas train is equipped with a pressure regulation device not
integrated in a monoblock valve, follow the instructions below to
install the accessories on the gas pipe near the burner:
The following must be fitted:
shut-off ball cock, gas filter, pressure stabiliser (or when the supply
pressure is greater than 400 mm water column = 0.04 kg/cm2)
pressure reducer, vibration-proof joint. These parts must be fitted as
illustrated in our drawing.
The gas filter must be placed on a horizontal pipe to prevent impurities
from falling into the tube and entering the stabilizer when it is cleaned.
We believe it is useful to provide you with the following practical
suggestions related to installing the necessary accessories on the
gas pipe near the burner.
• To avoid high pressure drops upon ignition, there should be a 1.5/2
m long pipe section between the pressure reducer or stabiliser
installation point and the burner. This pipe must have a diameter
equal to or greater than the connector to the burner.
• To ensure optimal operation of the pressure regulator, it should be
applied to the horizontal pipe after the filter.
• The gas pressure regulator must be adjusted when it is working at
the maximum output actually used by the burner.
• The outgoing pressure must be adjusted to a value slightly below
the maximum possible value (the value obtained by screwing in the
adjustment screw almost completely); in this case, the outgoing
regulator pressure increases as the adjustment screw is tightened,
and decreases as it is slackened.
• We recommend installing an elbow directly on the burner gas train
before fitting the removable fitting. This layout makes it possible to
open the boiler door, after opening the fitting.
BURNER WITH DUNGS MB ... GAS VALVE
If the gas valve incorporates a filter and a gas pressure stabilizer,
only a shut-off cock and an anti-vibration joint have to be fitted onto
the gas pipeline.
Only in the event the gas pressure is higher than the maximum level
permitted by the Standards, a suitable pressure reducer must be
installed on the gas pipeline outside the heating plant.
Install an elbow directly on the burner gas pipe before applying the
removable fitting, so as to allow the boiler door, if installed, opening
after opening the fitting itself.
