Status 5 (ST5): When using Model MSW1-4096-13N11-12 of IHI, Status 5
The following describes the above-mentioned error conditions more in detail.
1)
LED Wire Broken
If position detection LED in encoder is recognized as faulty, this status is set to
"1". In this case, it is impossible to obtain correct position data. Because this
error relates to hardware of encoder itself, replacement of encoder is required
for correcting the error.
2)
External Battery Alarm
When voltage of external battery to supply power to encoder becomes lower
than specified value, this status will be set to "1". If a voltage higher than
specified value is supplied, this status will return to "0". For the specified
voltage, refer to Appendices D through F.
3)
System Down
When all encoder power voltages drops down to disable encoder to perform its
functions, this status bit will be set to "1". If main power is turned ON under
such condition, this status will be set to "1". Once the status is set to "1", it will
be kept until resetting is performed.
During a system down error, only absolute position data for less than one
revolution (data in lower 11 bits) is correct.
The conditions to cause system down error for each model of encoder are as
follows:
Model MSW1-4096-13N11-12 of IHI
If voltage of external battery becomes lower than specified value and voltage
of internal secondary lithium battery also becomes lower than specified value
during energy saving operation, capacitor for system down will be
discharged. This condition will cause system down.
Model AEF-013-2048 of Sumtak
When voltage of built-in capacitor at terminal of external battery becomes
lower than 2.3 V during energy saving operation, circuit to detect system
down will be activated, resulting in condition to cause system down.
Model NAR-H11M-AD and NAR-H13M-AD of Nemicon
When voltage of built-in backup capacitor or external battery, whichever is
higher, becomes lower than 2.8 V, condition to cause system down will be
raised.
shows "external battery alarm".
When using Model AEF-013-2048 of Sumtak, Status 5 shows
"error of data for revolution number more than one
revolution".
When using Model NAR-H11M-AD of Nemicon, Status 5 is
always "0".
When using Model NAR-H13M-AD of Nemicon, Status 5
shows "system down".
