f Tap Show traffic announcements.
Traffic announcement priority is enabled when
the check mark is displayed in the checkbox.
f Tap to leave the menu.
When traffic announcement priority is enabled,
the TA symbol is displayed in the Home menu
and in the tuner display or in the display for the
currently playing media.
5.11 HD Radio troubleshooting
Symptom
Delay in digital audio on HD Radio broadcasts.
Audio skips, stutters, or echoes.
Volume changing up/down.
Sound fading in and out.
Excessive blending (transition between analog
and digital).
Digital audio is no better than analog audio.
The device will play a traffic announcement as
soon as it receives one. The received station is
shown in the display for the duration of the
announcement.
5.10.2 Cancelling a playing traffic
announcement
You can cancel a playing traffic announcement
and return to the audio source you were listen-
ing to before:
Possible cause
The radio acquires an analog station first and
blends to an digital signal.
The radio station has not properly aligned the
digital and analog audio.
The radio station has not properly aligned digital
and analog audio level.
The transition between analog and digital is
taking place (blending).
The vehicle is located near the edge of the digital
coverage area.
Audio processing on the digital audio at a station
can potentially decrease the digital audio sound
quality.
f Tap while the traffic announcement is
playing.
Note:
Traffic announcement priority remains
enabled.
Possible solution
This is not a malfunction.
Verify correct operation on another station.
Report any station with poor performance.
Verify correct operation on another station and
check www.hdradio.com for stations in the area.
