    Wiegand interface terminals or two PRT series terminals. After connection to MC16 controller the device enables to control single door. The expander operates with backup battery which can be charged with 0.3A current. MCX402-BRD expander is offered separately or as a component of MC402-1-KIT and MC402-2-KIT.

    In case of PRT readers with RACS CLK/DTA interface the expander must be uploaded with new firmware which is available at www.roger.pl. The expander enables the control of two PRT series readers with ID=0 and ID=1 addresses by MC16 controller.

    3. O PERATION SCENARIOS In typical scenario of operation, MCX402-BRD expander is used to control single door by MC16 controller. Depending on uploaded firmware the expander can operate with 2 Wiegand or PRT terminals. In practical applications expanders are usually installed within MCX402-1-KITs. The MCX402-2-KIT which is additionally equipped with PS1A module can be used to control two read-in doors by MC16 controller.

    The purpose of high level configuration is to define logical functioning of the expander which communicates with the MC16 access controller and it depends on applied scenario of operation. The example of access control system configuration is given in AN006 application note which is available at www.roger.pl. 5.
