RECORDING FROM THE RADIO
Recording is done on the side facing the cassette holder.
Use Type I (normal) tapes for recording. If you use Type IV
(metal) or Type D (high/chrome) tapes, sound that has already
been recorded may not be erased completely.

Insert a cassette into deck 1.

Press the W/= button to open the cassette holder.
@ Insert a cassette.
@ The side to be recorded on
@ Press the cassette holder lightly to close it.
Press the TUNER button to select FM or AM.
Press the TUNING M DOWN or UP WI button
to tune in to a station.
Press the button of deck 1 to start recording.
The button is depressed automatically.
Basic operation
Press the following buttons.

Press again to resume recording.
When the end of the tape is reached, the tape stops and the

repeatedly to select the position that gives the less noise.
Each time the button is pressed, the dot@ lights up and goes out
in the display window.

Do not press any of the deck 2 buttons during recording. It may
affect the recorded sound.
. You cannot listen to a tape or a compact disc during radio
recording.
If the erasure prevention tab is broken off, the button cannot
be depressed.
Adjusting the output volume and sound do not affect the recorded
sound.
To erase the recording

Press the TAPE button to select the tape function.
2 Insert a cassette into deck 1 with the side to be erased facing
the cassette holder.
3 Press the . button to start erasing.
To record from an external source
You can record the sound from an external source connected to
the AUWVIDEO jack.

Press the AUX button to select the AUX function,
Insert a cassette into deck 1 with the side to be recorded on
facing the cassette holder.
Press the button to start recording.
Start to play the connected external unit.
