Validity This document applies to PMblue centrifugal fans, whose permanent solenoid excited synchronous motors require a frequency inverter for electronic commutation. The used motor size is recognisable from the type designation (see rating plate). -

The PMcontrol Basic frequency inverters in the ESDM type series from ZIEHL-ABEGG are designed for PM motors. Controlling the “PMblue” fan with a PMcontrol Basic requires the data record of the motor being used. This can be found on the parameter storage medium “ZAstick”which accompanies this motor. -

• Every permanent solenoid excited synchronous motor must be operated on a separate frequency inverter. We recommend the use of the PMcontrol Basic frequency inverter from ZIEHL-ABEGG. • Do not short-circuit the ends of the connections on the motor windings, as this will lead to demagnetisation of the rotor. -
