1 General notes 1.1 Scope of documentation This document is valid for MAXvent axial fans type FV… and DN… (see rating plate), which are suitable for use in an explosive atmosphere. The complete documentation for the product consists of these fan assembly instructions and the motor operating instructions.

Assembly instructions MAXvent Safety 2.9 Operator’s obligation of diligence • The contractor or owner must also ensure that the electric systems and equipment are operated and maintained in accordance with electro-technical regulations. • The owner is obliged to ensure that the device is operated in perfect working order only.

Start-up is not allowed in the case of transport damage! • The operator is responsible for installation and for ensuring the safety of the device.

Thus, it comes down to the expert installation in the respective assembly situation. The following points serve as a guideline, but cannot always prevent bearing currents from occurring.

• For safety reasons, changes to the fan may only be carried out after receipt of written approval from ZIEHL-ABEGG. Unapproved changes can lead to risk of injury! • The equipment in explosion-proof version must neither be opened nor repaired.
Service work • Repair, e.g. by welding is prohibited! • Bolted-on wheels and/or wings may only be replaced by authorised ZIEHL-ABEGG SE staff. The manufacturer shall not be liable for damage caused through improper repair work. • Compliance with the minimum head gap must be checked at least once a year.
