Seats and stowing
Allow vehicle parts to cool down before

touching them.
The driving characteristics of your vehicle are
dependent on the distribution of the load within
the vehicle. You should bear the following in
mind when loading the vehicle:
Never exceed the permissible gross mass or
R
the gross axle weight rating for the vehicle
(including occupants). The values are speci‐
fied on the vehicle identification plate on the
vehicle's B-pillar.
Position heavy loads as far forwards as possi‐
R
ble and as low down in the cargo compart‐
ment as possible.
The load must not protrude above the upper
R
edge of the seat backrests.
Always attach the partition net when trans‐
R
porting objects in the cargo compartment.
Always place the load behind unoccupied
R
seats if possible.
Secure the load with sufficiently tear-resist‐
R
ant and wear-resistant tie downs. Pad sharp
edges for protection.

& WARNING Risk of injury or death due to
poorly secured objects
The cargo compartment cover alone cannot
secure or restrain heavy objects, items of
luggage or heavy loads.
You could be hit by an unsecured load, par‐
ticularly in the event of abrupt changes in
direction, sudden braking or an accident.
Always stow objects in such a way that
#
they cannot be thrown around.
Secure objects, luggage or loads
#
against slipping or tipping over, e.g. by
using tie downs, even if you are using
the cargo compartment cover.
* NOTE Damage to the cargo compart‐
ment cover when loading the vehicle
The cargo compartment cover may be dam‐
aged when the vehicle is being loaded.
