v Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action column until the problem
is solved.

components are customer replaceable units (CRU) and which components are field replaceable units
(FRU).
v If an action step is preceded by "(Trained service technician only)," that step must be performed only by a

Action
1. If the server power-on LED is lit, perform the following steps:
a. Reduce the server to the minimum configuration (see
"Solving undetermined problems" on page 89 for a
description of the minimum configuration).
b. Reinstall the components you removed, one at a time,
restarting the server each time.
c. If the error recurs, the component you just reinstalled is
defective; replace the defective component.
2. Reseat the following components:
a. Power supply n
b. Power backplane
3. Replace the components listed in step 2, one at a time, in the
order shown, restarting the server each time.
1. Make sure that the power cords are correctly connected to the
server and to a working electrical outlet.
2. Replace power supply n.

1. Make sure that there are no obstructions, such as bundled
cables, to the airflow on the power-supply fan.
