Slacken the cable outside the cover and provide a cable trap so that oil and water may
not travel up the cable.

If an oil-filled gearbox is used, make the oil level of the gear box lower than the oil
seal lip. Provide a vent in the gearbox to prevent internal pressure in the gear box
from rising and forcing oil into the motor.

The mechanical connection between the motor and the load is critical. An improper
connection can limit performance and shorten the life of the motor.

Perform centering accurately between the motor shaft and the load as shown in the
figure below. Note that with a rigid coupling, a slight offset will lead to damage of
the output shaft.
