    4.4.8 Instructions for the program • When data from the computer has any error, the inverter does not accept that data. Hence, in the user program, always insert a retry program for data error. • All data communication, for example, run command or monitoring, are started when the computer gives a communication request.

    Caution  Always set the communication check time interval before starting operation to prevent hazardous conditions.  Data communication is not started automatically but is made only once when the computer provides a communication request. If communication is disabled during operation due to signal cable breakage etc., the inverter cannot be stopped. When the communication check time interval has elapsed, the inverter will trip (E.SER).

    4.5.2 Outline • The MODBUS communication protocol was developed by Modicon for programmable controllers. • The MODBUS protocol uses exclusive message frames to perform serial communication between a master and slaves. These exclusive message frames are provided with a feature called "functions" that allows data to be read or written. These functions can be used to read or write parameters from the inverter, write input commands to the inverter or check the inverter's operating status, for example.
