Sub-code Description
1. Sub-code 1: Local connection failure;
2. Sub-code 2: The local OAM does not receive the OAM packet within specified time;
3. Sub-code 3: The remote OAM does not satisfy the requirement of the local OAM;
4. Sub-code 4: The local OAM does not satisfy the requirement of the remote OAM.

Handling Procedure
1. On the Local Maintenance Terminal (LMT), check whether there are alarms related to
the optical module or boards.

If yes, remove the faults of the optical module and board.
l
If no, go to step 2.
2. On the LMT, check whether the optical fibers or cables are faulty.
l If yes, replace the faulty fiber or cable.
l If no, go to step 3.
3. On the LMT, check the OAM parameter setting of NEs at the two ends to see whether
they are consistent.
l
If yes, modify the OAM parameters at both ends to be consistent.
