ZXMW NR8250 Alarm and Notification Handling Reference
l
Alarm Level: Critical
l
Alarm Type: Communications Alarm
Sub-code Description
l
Sub-code 1: The modulation and demodulation part is unlocked;
l
Sub-code 2: The CPU running is suspended in modulation and demodulation;
l
Sub-code 3: The protection function initialization for the RMU board fails.
Effect on the System
l
For subcode 1:
1. In non-protection mode, the traffic is interrupted.
2. In protection mode, if both the active and standby traffic units are unlocked, the
traffic is interrupted; otherwise, the active/standby changeover is performed.
l
For subcode 2:
1. In non-protection mode, the traffic is interrupted.
2. In protection mode, if both the active and standby traffic units are suspended, the
traffic is interrupted; otherwise, the active/standby changeover is performed, and
the service is not affected.
l
For subcode 3:
The receive-end protection function that RMU is configured with does not take effect,
thus the protection cannot be implemented.
Possible Causes
1. The configurations at both ends are incorrect.
2. The local transceiver and the remote transceiver are faulty.
3. The NR8250 shelf at the local end is faulty.
Handling Procedure
1. Check whether the configurations at the two ends including ODU frequency,
modulation modes, and bandwidth are consistent.
l
If yes, go to step 2.
l
If no, it indicates that the configuration is incorrect. Issue the data again.
2. Check whether the local end reports the unlock alarm (alarm code: 134239928).
l
If yes, replace the RMU board at the local end.
l
If no, go to step 3.
3. Check whether the remote end reports the unlock alarm (alarm code: 134239928). If
yes, replace the RMU board.
4. When the alarm of sub-code 3 is reported, cold start the active and standby RMU
boards. If the alarm persists, go to step 5.
5. Replace the active and slave RMU boards that report the alarm. If the alarm persists,
replace the N8250 shelf at the local end.
