a d j u s t m e n t s . T h e first a d j u s t m e n t , l o c a t e d at t h e
h a n d l e b a r lever, is u s e d to t a k e up s l a c k f r o m c a b l e
Stretch a n d to p r o v i d e s u f f i c i e n t free play s o that t h e
c l u t c h e n g a g e s a n d d i s e n g a g e s c o m p l e t e l y . T h e
p i c t u r e Illustrates all t h e parts i n v o l v e d in m a k i n g t h e
a d j u s t m e n t .
a. First, l o o s e n the l o c k nut. T h e n turn the a d j u s t e r
e i t h e r in or out d e p e n d i n g o n w h i c h d i r e c t i o n is
n e c e s s a r y to arrive at 2 ~ 3 m m . free play.
b. T h e s e c o n d a d j u s t m e n t is l o c a t e d b e h i n d t h e
c o v e r . R e m o v i n g t h e c o v e r w i l l e x p o s e t h e
a d j u s t i n g set s c r e w a n d l o c k nut. L o o s e n the l o c k
nut, rotate the s e t s c r e w in until it lightly s e a t s
a g a i n s t a c l u t c h p u s h rod t h a t w o r k s w i t h the s e t
s c r e w to o p e r a t e the c l u t c h . B a c k the set s c r e w
out 1 / 4 t u r n a n d t i g h t e n the l o c k nut. T h i s
a d j u s t m e n t m u s t b e c h e c k e d b e c a u s e heat a n d
c l u t c h w e a r w i l l affect this free p l a y , p o s s i b l y
e n o u g h to c a u s e i n c o m p l e t e c l u t c h O p e r a t i o n .
R e c h e c k c l u t c h c a b l e a d j u s t m e n t at h a n d l e b a r
after a d j u s t i n g .
