Starting in cold weather
M o s t e n g i n e s are difficult to Start in c o l d or f r e e z i n g
w e a t h e r .

a built in Starter jet that g i v e s a richer m i x t u r e
for
e a s i e r c o l d w e a t h e r s t a r t i n g .
1) D e p r e s s the Starter lever " C H O K E " .
2) S t a r t t h e e n g i n e w i t h t h e kick Starter, k e e p i n g t h e
t h r o t t l e c l o s e d .
Starting w h e n your engine is w a r m
W h e n y o u r e n g i n e is w a r m , after riding o r in w a r m
w e a t h e r , d o n ' t u s e the Starter lever. O p e n the t h r o t t l e
s l i g h t l y ( 1 / 4 t u r n or less) a n d kick the Starter.
W a r m i n g up
To get m a x i m u m e n g i n e life, a l w a y s " w a r m u p " t h e
e n g i n e for a f e w m i n u t e s b e f o r e s t a r t i n g off.
N e v e r
a c c e l e r a t e hard w i t h a c o l d e n g i n e !
T o s e e w h e t h e r
or not t h e e n g i n e is w a r m , s e e if it r e s p o n d s to t h r o t t l e
n o r m a l l y .
D o n ' t forget to raise the Starter lever after
t h e e n g i n e is w a r m .
N e v e r run t h e e n g i n e e x c e s s i v e l y
w h i l e in neutral or w i t h c l u t c h e n g a g e d .
