Introduction

The Galaxy PC support packages are advanced, high performance software programs that allow the Galaxy
range of control panels to be remotely and/or locally serviced via a Personal Computer (PC).
Two packages are available:
Remote Servicing Suite – Allows full remote servicing of Galaxy control panels (intended for installer use)
User Management Suite – Allows management of end user functions such as codes and timers (intended
for end users)
Note: Both products are available with and without copy protection.
Both products are encapsulated in a shell application which allows enhanced management of site accounts
and PC user management.
Depending upon the suite being used different applications can be launched from within the shell application.
These applications are:
Galaxy Gold – specific to the Remote Servicing Suite. Galaxy Gold software allows complete remote
servicing of Galaxy control panels via PSTN/ISDN/Ethernet/Serial based on the Galaxy communication
module used. The level of control achieved is identical to that of an on-site keypad. This ability to remotely
service sites is augmented by the facility to copy programming data from a remote Galaxy control panel to
the PC and, if required, this information can be used to overwrite the Galaxy control panel.
The off-line programming facility allows the copied site data to be viewed and modified using the PC,
enabling Galaxy site programming data to be created and stored in advance of overwriting the required
remote Galaxy site.
Alternatively, the PC can be connected directly to a single Galaxy control panel, via a Galaxy RS232
Interface Module, and used to locally service the site.
Security Directors Gold – specific to the User Management Suite, used for end user code and timer
management. Security Directors Gold is a sub set of the Galaxy Gold program.
Event Monitor – receives panel events for action by end user.
Event Monitoring is an advanced, high performance software program that allows a Personal Computer (PC)
to receive detailed event and alarm information from the full range of Galaxy control panels.
Once Event Monitoring is installed, the PC can receive and store messages from any Galaxy site via
PSTN/ISDN/Ethernet based on the Galaxy communication option installed. Alternatively, the PC can be
connected directly to a single Galaxy control panel, via a Galaxy RS232 Interface, and used to locally
monitor the site.
All event and alarm messages received are stored on the PC's hard disk, along with the details of the
operator and the time of acknowledging each alarm.
Event Monitoring has three operating states:
Foreground -
Background -
