Dialing a Site
The Connect|Dial option allows the PC to connect with a remote Galaxy control panel via the telecom
module, ISDN Module, Ethernet Module or a local Galaxy control panel via the RS232 Interface Module.
1. Select Connect|Dial.
2. If there is no Password for the site in the Enter New Site Data window, Galaxy Gold prompts for a
password to be entered. Enter the password for the site and click OK or press ENTER.
3. Galaxy Gold begins the procedure for connecting with the selected Galaxy control panel.
Control Panel Software Version Checker
Galaxy Gold checks the type (i.e. Galaxy 8, 60, 16+, etc) of version (Vx.xx) of Galaxy control panel, to which
it is attempting to connect.
If the control panel does not feature all the programming options available in Galaxy Gold the following
message is displayed:
If the control panel software does not support all the features in the Galaxy Gold software the following
message is displayed:
If an incompatibility warning is displayed, the user should arrange for panel or Galaxy Gold upgrades to
ensure full feature support.
