safe place. You will need these if you ever have
to call for service. These numbers are listed on
the underside of the drive.
Before You Begin
Inspect the container that your drive was shipped in.
If it appears damaged, contact your dealer or shipper
immediately. Save the container and shipping materi-
als in case you have to ship the drive in the future.
Open the box and make sure that all the parts are
included. If any parts are missing, contact your dealer
or Seagate representative. The kit should contain:
• Internal SCSI or ATAPI Tape Drive (8-Gbyte capacity)
• Mounting brackets and front bezel to adapt the
drive to a 5.25-inch drive bay
• Mounting screws
• Installation poster
• This installation manual
• Seagate Backup Exec software
