SCSI drive installation
If, after installing the SCSI tape drive, your computer
does not recognize your tape drive or other SCSI
device.
• • • • • Make sure that you have properly installed the
Seagate Backup Exec software.
• • • • • Make sure all cables are attached securely.
• • • • • Check the SCSI ID of each device in the SCSI chain to
make sure that no two devices have the same ID
(the controller is usually ID 7; the bootable hard
drive is usually ID 0).
• • • • • Make sure that SCSI termination is set correctly for
each SCSI device. Termination should be enabled for
the last SCSI device on the cable. All other SCSI
devices should have termination disabled.
