Setting the write-protect
switch
Travan cartridges feature a write-protect or "lock"
switch near the upper left corner of the cartridge. Use
this switch when you want to make sure that impor-
tant data on the tape will not be overwritten. Tapes
are shipped from the factory with the write-protect
switch off ("unlocked"). The figure at left shows this
switch in the unlocked and locked position.
