This section describes how to configure and install a
TapeStor 8GB SCSI tape drive. If you are installing an
ATAPI drive, see page 10.
Examining your computer
Before you install your SCSI drive, look in your com-
puter or read your computer manual to answer the
following questions. The information you gather will
be used during the installation process.
1. Do you have a 3.5-inch or 5.25-inch drive bay?
2. Do you have a SCSI host adapter?
3. Is there a unused connector available on your SCSI
cable (as shown at left)?
4. Is any other SCSI device using SCSI ID 4 (the tape
drive's default SCSI ID setting)?
5. Will your new tape drive be the last SCSI device on
the SCSI cable?
