Engine Maintenance - General
Refer to the engine owner's manual for all engine
maintenance procedures and recommendations.
Clean Debris Out of Engine Compartment
WARNING
Keep the unit free of grass, leaves, and other debris.
Flammable debris many be ignited by hot engine parts
causing serious injury or property damage.
Stop the engine and allow the unit to cool. Remove all
debris from the engine compartment. Be sure all cooling
fins, radiators, screens, and areas around the exhaust
system are clean.
Clean Engine Oil Cooler or Radiator
1. Clean the oil cooler, radiator, or radiator screen with
compressed air at regular intervals, or if dirty. The engine
oil cooler (A, Figure 28) is located on the left hand side
of air-cooled engines. The radiator is located at the rear
of the engine compartment on liquid-cooled models.

2. Liquid cooled models also have a removable radiator
screen (B, Figure 29 & 30).
3. To access the removable radiator screen (B, Figure
30) on Kawasaki models, remove the hair pin clips (C)
securing the transmission oil cooler (D).
4. Clean all cooling system components.

Clean Transmission Oil Cooler
Service Interval: Every 25 Hours, or As Necessary
The transmission oil cooler (D, Figures 28, 29 & 30) is
located behind the engine and should be cleaned with
compressed air at regular intervals or if dirty.
