3-5-23. Settings - Network

1. The network parameters of two Ethernet ports are independent. You can attach these two
Ethernet ports to different subnets, e.g., one for a network console or as a uplink; the other to a
PoE switch for connecting more IP cameras.
2. Access to a primary gateway should be configured with NET1. NET2 should be used to connect
to another subnet where IP cameras reside.
2. The major gateway of the system is NET1(Eth0) as the Ethernet port for a network console.
NET2(Eth1) can be used for connecting to another PoE switch and then to IP cameras.
3. Do not connect IP cameras that come with virtual IPs (cameras' default 169.254.x.x) to
NET1(Eth0). The DRM search will not be able to find cameras that come without a designated
IP. Also, if a DHCP server is not present in a network NET1 is attached to, you will not able to
find the NVR using the IW2 utility.
4. Please avoid attaching NET1(Eth0) and NET2(Eth1) to the same subnet.
NOTE:
1. Cameras acquired through the NET2 connection must be configured into the same subnet as
NET1, if you need to move them into a network accessed through NET1.
2. For ONVIF cameras, only those configured with fixed IPs can be found by the NVR in a network.
3. For ONVIF cameras, they can be found in a network managed by a DHCP server. However, if IP
changes occur later, NVR will not able to find them.
