3. Off-season storage

WARNING
Close the valve of the LPG tank.
After close the valve of the tank, consume
remained fuel by running the engine if the
motor is stored.

Be sure to disconnect fuel connector
except when operating engine.
Fuel leakage is a fire or explosion hazard,
which can cause serious injury or death.
Before you put your outboard motor in
storage, it is a good opportunity to have
it serviced and prepared by your dealer.
Be sure to use fuel stabilizer while run-
ning the motor before storage. (See
page 65)

Engine
1. Wash the engine exterior and flush
the cooling water system thoroughly
with fresh water. Drain the water
completely.
Wipe off any surface water with an
oily rag.
2. Remove the fuel hose from the out-
board motor.
3. Consume remained fuel by turning
the engine if the motor is stored.
4. Remove the spark plugs and put a
teaspoon of engine oil or spray stor-
age oil into the combustion chamber
through the spark plug holes.
INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE
5. Pull the recoil starter several turns to
lubricate inside the cylinder.

WARNING
Be sure to remove stop switch lock to
prevent ignited the spark plugs.
Put a cloth to spark plug hole and wipe up
any spilled engine oil, when cranking the
outboard motor.
6. Change the engine oil (See page 51).
7. Change the gear oil in the gear case
(See page 53).
8. Apply grease to grease point (See
page 58).
9. Stand the outboard motor up verti-
cally in a dry place.

CAUTION
Do not carry or store the outboard motor in
any position shown below. Other wise,
engine oil or cooling water may enter the
cylinder cause engine problems. Property
damage could result from leaking oil out.
