- Fixing aircraft position:
. computation, filtering, and maintenance of aircraft position and
speed
. computation of GPS and UTC time,
. management of navigation modes.
- Input/output management:
. ARINC 429
. RS 422,
. program pin
. self-tests
. when the power is turned on, the CPU PCB performs self test se-
quences for each sub-unit
. as a background task: the CPU PCB performs cyclic tests in all
operating modes.
. saving certain parameters in the protected memory, while the RPU
is off.
(d) HF PCB, Z4
This PCB provides the interface between the ACU antenna (or the PAU
preamplifier) and the CPU PCB Z3 (central processing unit).
Its main functions are as follows:
- Analog filtering of the RF signal on each frequency : L1 and L2,
- Conversion of the RF signal into an intermediate frequency signal
IF,
- Amplification of the IF signal,
- Processing the 10 MHz clock in order to synthesize the local
clocks: 100 MHz, 200 MHz, 1400 MHz.
(e) Clock PCB, Z5
This PCB is designed to generate the 10 MHz clock, used by the HF
PCB, Z4.
