4.1 Assembly

Before installing the GEMÜ 3030 mFlow in the piping, drain
and cool the piping to avoid caustic burns from the medium
and scalding.
The sensor should preferably be installed in a vertical rising
pipeline with an upwards flow direction. Installation in penstock
should be avoided wherever possible. Ensure that piping is
continuously filled.
In horizontal lines, care should be taken to avoid trapped air
when installing the sensor, as otherwise the measurement
result will be falsified.

There must be no free outlet downstream of the GEMÜ 3030
mFlow to ensure that the piping is always completely filled.

In addition, the flowmeter should be attached in the horizontal
installation position to the side of the lower specified area.

In order to avoid flow turbulence due to bends in lines that may
falsify the measurement result, a straight inlet distance of 10 x
DN and a straight outlet distance of 5 x DN should be provided.

The electronics housing with display can be rotated through
370°.
For plant-specific reasons, potential differences may occur
between the piping and reference earth.
To eliminate this, do the following:
● Earth the piping upstream and downstream of the fl owmeter.
● Connect pin 3 of plug X3 to the same potential.
To ensure accuracy, the sensor must already have
been in the medium to be measured for 24 hrs (with
supply voltage applied).
