APPENDIX 7
Installation & Programming The Powered Hinge
Programming For A Hinge Installation
The only aspect of programming that is affected for a hinge installation is that the
hinge zone must be programmed into the lift.
1
With hinge in the down position, program the lift as instructed in this booklet.
2
When the lift reaches a position 150mm before reaching the hinged joint,
switch the hinge zone switch to on. However, this may not be safe at shallower
angles. Lift should be run down to an open hinge to determine a safe stopping
position.
3
Continue programming the lift to the bottom of the rail.
4
To set the bottom stop position, the Final Limit actuator will have to be
operated by hand, or temporarily fit a charge ramp with striker plate fitted.

Lift Operation

Lift at the Top of the Stairs
A down call on the lift, using either the rocker switch or remote call and sends will start the lift in the down
direction and automatically close the powered hinge.
If the hinge enters the programmed hinge zone and does not detect that the hinge interlock is closed, the lift will
stop, but cannot be moved in either direction (shows fault code 'H').
Lift at the Bottom of the Stairs
An up call on the lift using either the rocker switch or remote call and sends will start the lift in the up direction.
When the lift leaves the programmed hinge zone the powered hinge will be automatically raised (folded).
Parking the Lift
Pressing the red button on the remote handset will automatically run the lift to the next charge point, either an
intermediate charge point if fitted or the top charge point.
When the lift leaves the programmed hinge zone the powered hinge will be automatically raised (folded).
